Social Media Crosscheck

Walkthrough video: Social Crosscheck SOP.mp4

Preparation

First, familiarize yourself with the client's brand and voice.

  • Review the client's website, past social media posts, and any provided brand guidelines.
    • You can find this information in the “SOP” under docs & files in Basecamp.
    • Example: Dartem’ Up
  • Take note of the client's tone, style, and preferred language or phrases
  • Understand the client's target audience and their preferences

Daily Crosscheck Tasks

If you can fix any of the following issues by logging in manually, take care of them. If not, add them to the “Daily Maintenance List” to share. Refer to the Master Social Media Editorial Schedule for the full list of clients and Social Crosscheck  for the crosscheck links.

  • Review all notifications, including comments, messages, or other engagements.
    • Use the social@xscad.de email to check for things like failed posts, new comments, or received Google My Business reviews.
  • Verifying Posts Went Up
    • Moving one client at a time, make sure the most recent posts went up on every platform they were supposed to go up on. You should check all the posts you have not checked before (or go back a full week if you are unsure).
    • Check the client’s editorial to see what was supposed to be posted. If the caption is crossed out, then it should be posted on all platforms.
    • If anything was not posted, add these to the “Daily Maintenance List” to share the information with the Social Media Coordinator.
  • Check Post Accuracy
    • For each post (go one by one on each platform), skim the caption to make sure it matches the editorial.
    • Make sure the image/video is displaying properly. Common issues are:
      • The photo does not load/does not exist
      • The video was sized wrong/has a weird border
      • The image was blurry
      • The photo/video was of the wrong content (does not match the text or client)
  • Other Crosscheck
    • Make sure a post has gone up within the last 3 days for each client.
      • If not, add this observation to the “Daily Maintenance List”
    • Other items
      • For Google My Business, posts should not have hashtags (#tuscon #pomodoro)
